Dress Brand: Banana Republic |
Skirt Brand: Theory |
Belt Brand: The Limited |
Sweater Brand: Arden B. |
The pictures above are my favorite finds from consignment stores. The skirt, dress, and sweater were brand new - all had their original tags on them. The Theory skirt's original tag said $195, I got it for $16!
I would actually REALLLY appreciate answers to the following questions. I write the fashion column for my school's newspaper and this month's article is on thrifting/consignment store shopping.
1. Do you do a lot of shopping at thrift/consignment/vintage stores?
2. Any advice for new thrifters?
3. What's your favorite thing about thrift shopping?
4. What's your opinion about some people being afraid of, grossed out by, or those who just don't like the idea of used clothes?
5. What's your favorite thrift store find?
I would appreciate a response to one or all questions or just a statement about the topic!
Thanks so much!!

We follow you now!
1. I shop everywhere but I LOVE thrift shops
ReplyDelete2. pick the pieces you think you can't wear and look at youtube DIY tutorials you'll got amazing pieces
3. My fav thing is that it's cheap and you can find awesome items
4. Well I don't know why they can be afraid, people wearing thrifted items don't smell bad or I don't know. I think they have to see some great items maybe it will change their opinion
5. I have so much in my area, we have many thrift stores in Africa!
LOVE that belt and skirt in the 3rd photo :))
ReplyDelete1. yes, it's one of the best places to find unique pieces for an outfit. I love digging around in them to see what I can find.
2. Ask around to people that thrift to find the best places. Do your research on clothes if they are vintage to know what is real and fake. And have fun.
3. My favourite thing is just finding something unique at a better price than in the shops :) Something that says me and not what magazines want to shove down my throat to wear.
4. I can understand it really, if the item hasn't been washed or in bad condition. But, I wouldn't really be afraid. Just wash them or give them a mend, nothing wrong in that. I think they freak out at the thought of it not being new really and can't get past that. But, it just leaves more good finds for me ;)
5. A Nougat top for less than 10 dollars and when I went to the actual shop it was still in season for like over 60 dollars, made me laugh really!
Hope you have a great weekend :) xx
love the print of first dress a lot :)
